Ask Your Children

K-Mum broke out a new musical toy set for little sister C-bao today. "What's this piece do?" asked K-bao, picking out the odd wooden contraption above.

"I don't know, honey," replied K-Mum. K-bao took the piece away for a few minutes, along with the wooden box on a stick, and came back triumphantly a few moments later.

"I got it, Mommy, this is how you play it!" she exclaimed, banging one piece with the other.

"Um, I don't think so, K-bao."

"Yes it is!" she retorted. "See, look" - pointing to the Melissa & Doug letters written on the back - "The instructions say, if you don't know how to play it, ask your children and they will tell you!"

Shalom Senor

K-bao makes up her own lyrics while singing (and banging on a makeshift drum, ineffectively) to entertain sister C-bao. Why she insists that the lyrics are comprised of Hebrew and Spanish words, however, eludes K-Pop. She does attack the gutteral sounds with gusto.

Honest Kabe

The one little virtue that the K-folks have detected in little K-bao to date is that, while outrageously mischievous at times, she is at least honest about it. If anything, she 'fesses up to her naughty acts quite willingly.

The other day, Mrs. Kim, the mother of good friend Blair, shared the story of how, despite it being Blair's turn to push the elevator button, K-bao at the last second outmaneuvered her friend to the coveted button, at which point Blair burst into tears. "But Kayla did it by accident, didn't she?" said Mrs. Kim sweetly, protecting her in front of K-Mum.

"No, actually I did it on purpose," replied K-bao matter-of-factly, and without any visible sign of remorse.

6 Months

Another 6 months have flown by in K-bao's whirling dervish of a childhood. Here are small snippets of some videos taken during this time, inspired by Cesar Kuriyama's One Second Every Day.

Broken Promise

K-bao continues to pull out all manner of tricks to get a chess win. Here, she lulls K-Pop into a false sense of security by "Super Wa-Duper" promising that she won't eat his queen after a silly move, only to gleefully and immediately backslide. Integrity lessons forthcoming from the K-folks.

#TimeFlies

January 1, 2021! How time flies. K-bao's growth from a spunky little kid to a rambunctious tween is one of the most tangible markers of ...
