Spooky Hill

Here are the kiddos taking a snack break on their recent Daddy-Daughter Special Date hike in the Presidio. Seaweed for K-bao and Banana Puffs for C-bao.

K-bao saw a deceased rodent ("Look Daddy, a died rat! A died rat!") on the trail by the "Spooky Hill," which led to an extended conversation about body decomposition, the spiritual lives of animals and the Circle of Life.

Cycle

Here you can see little 4-year-old K-bao alternatively sweet, contemplative and mischievous. Her normal cycle time is about 2 minutes 20 seconds.

Picnic with XG2

Xiao Goo-Goo  (Aunt Catherine) was in town following the K-Grandfolks' visit. Here she is with the Hu fam out for a picnic at Golden Gate.

How time flies! Compare that last stroller picture with some of Xiao Goo-Goo's prior visits, in 2011 and 2010.

Dance & Paddle

K-bao dances, twirls, spins and claps for li'l sis C-bao.

C-bao would like to join in on the fun, but the most she can do at this point is kick and paddle her feet, in place, and rather sadly.

But where did little C-bao even learn to paddle? Why, swimming lessons from big sis on the bed, of course.

Visit

The K-Grandfolks and Uncle James (Shu-Shu) were in town this week, and true to historical practice, showered K-bao with undeserved praise, attention, treats and gifts of all kinds.

In return, K-bao repeatedly hit up K-Grandpop and Shu-Shu for multiple rounds of her most recent favorite hobby. Oblivious to the generosity inherent in some of her opponents' moves, she ran around the house all week with vanquished chess pieces obnoxiously calling out, "Guess what? I ate his queen!"

For which she was then rewarded with goodies like chocolate-covered Pacific Puffs, Hello Kitty earmuffs, sparkly shoes, etc. That's right, the K-Grandfolks filled an entire suitcase with these things (and paid for additional checked luggage!), forcing them to take a full week to be able to pass them out in a manner that didn't overwhelm the little one with adrenaline.

#TimeFlies

January 1, 2021! How time flies. K-bao's growth from a spunky little kid to a rambunctious tween is one of the most tangible markers of ...
