Tea Party

To celebrate our little one's 6th, Aunt Christina (Xiao Ah-Yi) took K-bao out to a tea party at the famous Crown & Crumpet. K-Pop was one of the few esteemed guests of the birthday girl, along with sister C-bao and Aunt Leslie.

K-Mum was unable to make the event, but did extract a promise from the little one that she would limit herself to one sweet.

As soon as K-bao arrived, she picked out her one sweet - naturally, the one with blue and purple colors.

Throughout the afternoon K-bao spent an inordinate amount of time trying to figure out how to put only "one grain" of sugar in her tea, per K-Pop's orders.

Overall, it was probably the most high-society party our little one has attended, much less been the center of. Thank you Aunt Christina!

Royal Responsibilities

Princess K-bao recently was called to attend a festive gathering of fellow princesses. Never one to shirk the obligations of the crown, she awoke early, donned her bejeweled outfit and headed off. Here she is upon her return, with a balloon flower, a face full of wings and butterflies - which she insisted on wearing until nighty-night - and a tummy full of sugar. Ah, the heavy duties of royalty!

Class Clown

K-bao managed to make it out to friend Juniper's 3rd birthday party this past weekend. Instead of wishing her friend a happy birthday, she spent most of the time rummaging around Juniper's room, checking out her books, playing with her toys (including dragging her wagon up and down the hall a dozen times), and generally causing a ruckus / drawing attention away from the birthday girl.

In fact, the one time she joined "circle time" with the "Bee Lady" was when the kids were together holding onto a piece of colorful canvas, flapping it up and down like it was an ocean wave - but only then to ascertain that the best and highest use of her time and resources would be not to join the activity within the rules of the game but to jump on top of the canvas and roll around as the center of attention until said Bee Lady got annoyed and kicked her off.

You can see some action shots below. The first frame, where she observed what everyone was supposed to be doing, lasted all of 3 or 4 seconds. Most of her time was spent in frames 2 and 3. We can see the Class Clown personality developing before our eyes, and we are powerless to stop it.

Pah-tay

K-bao went to visit her friend Sasha last weekend for Sasha's first birthday. The last time she was over a few months back, K-bao was not exactly the model house guest. In fact, she took one look at her friend's smiling face and started bawling like a drunken sailor. This time, thankfully, she held herself together and actually had some fun with all the other kiddos. K-Mum put her in the right frame of mind on the way there by doing a song and dance routine to the words of "Pah-tay....Pizza Pah-tay" which threw K-bao into a serious fit of giggles.

Speaking of birthdays, K-bao will be a full 9 months in a few days. In other words, as much time out as in. Hopefully K-bao has found the outside world almost as warm and hospitable as Mommy's tummy.
