Teaching ABCs

K-bao may have the gift of teaching. In the below video, in which she decided one morning that she was going to teach her 15 month old sister the ABCs, she demonstrates:

• Engagement. Plenty of volume, lots of eye contact and gestures to keep her sister focused and paying attention.
• Grit. C-bao appeared tired of the instruction about 1/3 of the way through, but K-bao wouldn't let her give up. 
• Encouragement. "She's doing great on this!" K-bao exclaims excitedly to K-Pop at 0:54 of the second video, around the "O" mark.

Bubble Bath

While we are trying to build grit in little K-bao, it is already clear she doesn't give up easily.

Here she is asking for a bubble bath, during which says "Please Daddy" seven times in 15 seconds, before going on to emphasize that she (1) has been a super good kid recently and, relatedly, (2) has not flagrantly disobeyed anything K-Pop has asked her to do.

Of course, the fact that she walks over to a chair and cracks open a book on Term Sheets and Valuations while articulating her reasoning lessens somewhat the persuasiveness and personal impact of her arguments. Lessons on eye contact forthcoming.

Persistence

Here is K-bao once again pulling out her high-pitched entertainment routine for little C-bao, whose attitude could frankly use a little more gratitude.

What's impressive about K-bao's approach is not the humor quotient, which is only inadvertently high, nor the pitch at which it is delivered - which is about as high as it can get - but the relentlessness of it.

K-bao takes the "When at first you don't succeed, try, try again" philosophy to extreme lengths. The first delivery may not succeed in squeezing a smile out, but knowing her sister's short-term memory is currently poor, she'll do a lap and come running back for another round.
